Travel Soccer 
Registration and tryouts for the 2026 PYSL Fall Travel season will begin on Sunday, May 3. Please make sure you attend the session aligned with your birthday.

- 2:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.: Boys and Girls born August 1, 2007 - July 31, 2011
- 3:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.: Boys & Girls born August 1, 2011 - July 31, 2013
May 4, 2026
- 6:30 p.m. - 7:45 p.m.: Boys & Girls born August 1, 2013 - July 31, 2016
Players must register online at www.PYSLsoccer.net prior to attending tryouts. The tryout fee is $25 and will be used towards the team fee if roster spot is offered and accepted following tryouts. Tryout fee is not refunded if no spot is offered or spot is not accepted.
Teams begin practice in early August with games scheduled to begin in early September. Season will conclude in mid November before Thanksgiving Day. Teams will participate in Virginia Club Soccer League - West divisions. Opposing clubs include Roanoke, Christiansburg, Salem, Danville, Blacksburg, Lynchburg, Harrisonburg and Charlottesville.

Academy Soccer 
Tryouts for the 2026 Fall Academy season will be held on May 7 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Smith River Sports Complex. If interested in joining the team, please plan to attend or contact Logan Jones at ljones@henrycountyva.gov in the event of a scheduling conflict.
Academy is open to all boys and girls born from August 1, 2016 - July 31, 2019. Experience at the recreation level is preferred. Academy is for kids that are looking for a little higher competition level from rec soccer while also wanting to develop as a player through higher level training. Academy is the pathway to joining the travel program once at the U11 age.
Academy teams will play other U8, U9 and U10 teams from regionally located clubs in Roanoke, Christiansburg, Blacksburg, Lynchburg, Salem, Danville and Greensboro. Games are on Saturdays and most will include more than one match due to the travel. The program will also attend two spring tournaments, dates and locations are still to be determined.

Recreation Soccer 
Registration will open for the 2026 PYSL Fall Rec Season on June 1, 2026.
Rec soccer is open to any boy or girl ages 3-11. The registration deadline is August 3, 2026 with games beginning on September 12. The season will finish before November 1.
Registrations can be completed online at PYSLsoccer.net or in-person by visiting the SRSC Registration Office. The registration fee is $65 for the Tiny Canes program and $80 for U6 and up. Smith River Sports Complex
T-Ball League 
Registration is now closed for the 2026 Smith River T-Ball season.
Registration for the 2027 Spring T-Ball season will open in January 2027.
T-Ball is open to any boy or girl ages 3-6.
Registrations can be completed online by visiting www.smithrivertball.com. You can also stop by the registration office at the Smith River Sports Complex or Henry County Parks & Rec office in the Administration Building to complete a registration form in person.
