PYSL Academy Evaluations

Tryouts for the 2026 Spring Academy season will be held on January 11 and 18 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Smith River Sports Complex. If interested in joining the team, please plan to attend or contact Logan Jones at ljones@henrycountyva.gov in the event of a scheduling conflict.

Academy is open to all boys and girls born from 2017 - 2018. Experience at the recreation level is preferred. Academy is for kids that are looking for a little higher competition level from rec soccer while also wanting to develop as a player through higher level training. Academy is the pathway to joining the travel program once at the U11 age.

Academy teams will play other U8, U9 and U10 teams from regionally located clubs in Roanoke, Christiansburg, Blacksburg, Lynchburg, Salem, Danville and Greensboro. Games are on Saturdays and most will include more than one match due to the travel. The program will also attend two spring tournaments, dates and locations are still to be determined.

Players should register at www.PYSLsoccer.net prior to evaluation day.
