PYSL Kicks Off Another Large Season
PYSL is comprised of several divisions: recreation, Piedmont Youth Academy (PYA), travel, and TOP Soccer.
The recreation program, which includes teams from Under-4 to Under-16, has 505 players registered for this season. The PYA program includes Under-8 through Under-10 teams and they have 59 players registered. The travel program will hold five teams from Under-10 to Under-13 with over 60 players registered.
"It is great to see the number of kids participating continue to rise in our area. I am looking forward to a great spring season for all our programs," said PYSL Director of Coaching Edna Crehan.
Additionally, there will be a TOP Soccer program offered again this spring. TOP Soccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a program to offer soccer instruction for special needs children and to get them involved in learning the game.
"We are excited to be kicking off another season of PYSL this weekend. It is always a nice feeling to see all of the parents and kids running around the facility. PYSL is such a great resource for this community and we are excited at the large number of kids we have registered in the program," said SRSC Director of Operations Billy Russo.
The games will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the SRSC. The PYSL season will continue through mid-May.
For anyone who may have missed the spring registration deadline, registration for PYSL's fall programs will begin in August.
